Being a National Wildlife Refuge, all research and monitoring activities conducted on Palmyra Atoll must first be approved by the US Fish and Wildlife Service under a Special Use Permit (SUP). A step-by-step guide to the SUP application process, as well as relevant forms and guidelines, can be found in the permit section of the US Fish and Wildlife Service's web site.
